Depuis l’invention de la photographie, Paris a été un sujet de choix pour les photographes. Les photographies de Paris révèlent l’évolution des genres et des techniques, mais aussi bien sûr l’intention du photographe. Est-ce la réalité ou plutôt le rêve que cherche à capter l’œil du photographe ? Quelle est la place de l’humain et du documentaire dans ces photographies de Paris ? Comment le regard du photographe communique-t-il de l’humour ? Nous examinerons plusieurs exemples de grands photographes de Paris au XXe siècle, dont Brassaï et Doisneau.
Since the invention of photography, Paris has been a choice subject for photographers. Photographs of Paris show how styles and techniques have developed, but also, of course, reveal the photographer’s intentions. Is it reality, or rather a dream, that the photographer’s eye seeks to capture? What is the place of humanity and documentary in these Parisian photographs? How does the photographer's gaze communicate humour? We will examine several examples of great photographers of Paris in the twentieth century, including Brassaï and Doisneau.
